Hospitality design aesthetics – Wabi Sabi

Wabi Sabi is less a style and more a philosophy—rooted in the appreciation of imperfection, transience, and the quiet beauty of natural aging. It embraces simplicity and depth, where materials are valued not for their refinement but for their authenticity.

Interior spaces are defined by unpolished textures: raw plaster walls, wood with visible cracks, smooth cement coatings, and handmade ceramics. Lighting is soft and diffuse, highlighting shadows and the character of each surface.

Exteriors follow the same ethos. Pergolas are solid, handmade, often bearing the visible marks of time. Stone flooring, weathered surfaces, and handcrafted details give the impression of a space that has aged gracefully alongside its surroundings.
