The Three Yards Residence is located on the hill of Chalepa and is inspired by the Spanish concept of a “belvédère”. It offers three private courtyards, each providing stunning views of Chania and its surroundings.
The residence is comprised of two apartments. The first is a comfortable 48 sqm space which includes one bedroom, a private entrance from the road and a terrace with panoramic views (1). The second apartment spans in two floors. The upper floor of 52 sqm houses the private entrance from the road, a covered parking space and a master bedroom that hovers above the olive trees with direct access to the gathering point under the pine tree (2). The 114 sqm ground floor includes the main living areas, a small office, two additional bedrooms, two bathrooms, and storage spaces. All main living spaces provide views to Chania and direct connections to the private outdoor terrace and pool (3).
From the road, the residence appears as a humble, single-story structure, ensuring privacy. The natural stone walls blend with the environment, creating a sense of solidity. The smooth, white stucco on the upper sections contrasts elegantly with the rough stone, adding a modern, clean-lined aesthetic.
The west orientation allows the view of the sunset, while the upper floor volume of the master bedroom, provides essential shading to the main living areas below it, ensuring comfort during the hot Greek summer months.
The interior design combines modern elegance with natural warmth. Materials such as wood, stone and glass create an inviting yet sophisticated atmosphere. Large windows flood the interiors with natural light, offering stunning views and a seamless connection to the outdoor environment.
